A Village Visionary Case Study – Guest Blog by Sarah Antrobus of Ma Gather and Weave
I am Sarah, a Village Visionary in the Cotswolds town of Cirencester.
As a former Paediatric and NICU Nurse, Breastfeeding and Community worker with fourĀ adult children, my world has been woven around the support and care of women andĀ babies. The threads of each others stories are the blanket that I wear, the shawl around myĀ shoulders as I take the first tentative steps into my elder years. I am embracing the CroneĀ phase of my life as a journey into discovering and renewing my wisdom, strength, and loveĀ for myself and for the women I walk alongside.
I believe when we nurture women, children and babies, we nurture the soul of theĀ community.
I believe that by creating spaces for women to be together with their babies, we are notĀ only promoting health and nurturing love, but also planting seeds of connection,Ā resilience, and hope. Teaching a mother to massage her baby doesnāt just soothe herĀ child; she also fosters a deep emotional bond, promotes her babyās physicalĀ development, and enhances her own sense of purpose. This simple act becomes aĀ gateway for both personal and community growth. We are fostering connection, breakingĀ down isolation, and building a culture of care.
Together, we can build a future where every woman feels empowered, every child feelsĀ loved, and every community thrives.
