The seeds of Tree Babies...
Tree Babies was born from my experiences of connecting with nature and being outdoors during the first lockdown of 2020. I developed a daily mindfulness practice of simply “being” in nature and would walk for an hour a day just connecting with myself, my feelings, and the beauty around me. The intention to “just be” and receive the gifts nature provides to gain insight and peace of mind.
It took me back to the simplicity of life when I had my three children, Emily, Xavier and Caspar, all born within 4 years of each other and the joy and release of adventuring into nature with an open mind and an open heart.

Helen - Tree Babies Guide
My name is Helen and I am a Tree Babies guide. I live in Somerset with my husband and 2 boys aged 4 and 7 months.
My eldest son was born prematurely and spent the first 3 weeks of his life in the neonatal intensive care unit. Exhausted and overwhelmed by the experience I developed post-natal depression. We lived far from our families, and I didn’t have a support network around me. I attended lots of baby groups which I loved but I always felt that the needs of mums were missed, and it was then that I decided I would start my own parent and baby group with a focus on mum’s mental health and wellbeing. I went back to work after my maternity leave ended and the idea got parked until I came across Tree Babies by Blossom and Berry.
I have just started my first block of classes and I love delivering them. My aim is to create a safe space for parents to come together in nature, take a breather, bond with baby and connect with themselves. I want them to feel they are loved and heard.
I feel so happy after each session, I’m doing what I love doing and if the parents that come to my sessions feel supported that’s all I could wish for. It’s very rewarding.
I enrolled on the course and qualified whilst I was pregnant with baby number 2. The training is just lovely, and it enhanced my love of being in nature and practising mindfulness. It introduced me to forest bathing and grounding techniques which were completely new to me. I practice all the techniques used in Tree Babies in my own time which has really supported my own mental wellbeing. The training gave me the confidence and resources to hold sessions, I lead guided meditations and hold space for parents.
I would highly recommend the training. The content is gorgeous, and you can do it in your own time. I always felt very supported throughout the training by Gayle and the Blossom and Berry community on Facebook. The lovely thing about the Facebook groups means the support and inspiration is ongoing.

What does teaching mean to you?
Teaching for me means being able to share with other parents the daily mindful practices, knowledge & ideas that I use in my life that support & empower me & my young family.
Parenting can sometimes feel chaotic & stressful & like there isn’t enough time for everything. I’m very thankful to be able to offer the gift of time to parents through living in the moment. Time to stop, to explore nature & make memories with their little ones, as well as see friendships grow-when new parents meet each other.
