Twenty years ago I was a stressed out, overwhelmed project finance lawyer in the city of London. In theory, I had it all from the prospects, pay check and popularity but inside I felt inauthentic and like I was an outsider.
When I had my daughter unexpectedly at the age of 27, I knew now was the time for change. I wanted to be with her and I knew becoming a Mother was my soul path. I wanted to spend my time with her and not leave her in child care. I wanted to create a new path where I could be present with her, enjoy being a mother and also do something I loved. I searched for the answer and it came from deciding to teach baby massage which was something I had never considered or even heard of 23 years ago.
I trusted my heart and trained to teach and I never looked back. I had my two boys in the next 2.5 years and my family and new path was complete. I loved being with my children and sharing the importance of love and connection with as many families as possible through teaching baby massage and yoga.
Once I took that leap, my life changed and I went from a shy, anxious and reluctant speaker to a fully embodied confidence teacher and space holder for parents, I was running multiple classes, working alongside charities, gyms, nurseries and children’s centres.
Soon after, I started my training school Blossom & Berry and started to teach others all I had learnt. To date we have a community of over 5000 teachers and together as a family we have touched the hearts of millions of babies in our communities, as well as transforming lives for our teachers and their families.
I became an author, brand ambassador, media spokesperson, TED x speaker and received an award from 10 Downing Street due to my charitable work in Malawi.
And the best part is I love and loved every part of it, have an amazing relationship with my three children, who are now in their twenties and have had the most joy, freedom and creativity in following this path.
